The "Pay or Play" Mandate

According to healthcare reform, beginning in 2016 employers and businesses will be assessed a tax penalty if they do not comply with the following:


Beginning in 2016, if you do not offer health coverage to your employees and at least one employee received a premium tax credit or cost sharing subsidy in your state or federally run exchange, the penalty is $2,000 annually multiplied by the number of full-time employees (excluding the first 30 employees).   The penalty is increased each year by the growth in insurance premiums.
